अनिच्छा से चन्द्रदर्शन हो गया हो तो...

यदि कोई मनुष्य अनिच्छा से भाद्रपद मास के शुक्ल पक्ष की गणेश चतुर्थी के चन्द्रमा को देख ले तो उसे निम्न मंत्र से पवित्र किया हुआ जल पीना चाहिए । ऐसा करने से वह तत्काल शुद्ध हो भूतल पर निष्कलंक बना रहता है । जल को पवित्र करने का मंत्र इस प्रकार है:

सिहः प्रसेनमवधीत सिंहो जाम्बवता हतः ।

सुकुमारक मा रोदीस्तव ह्येष स्यमन्तकः ॥

’सुंदर सलोने कुमार! इस मणि के लिए सिंह ने प्रसेन को मारा है और जाम्बवान ने उस सिंह का संहार किया है, अतः तुम रोओ मत । अब इस स्यमन्तक मणि पर तुम्हारा ही अधिकार है ।’

If unintentionally catch sight of moon

If someone unintentionally catch sight of the moon in Bhadra month’s Shukal Paksha’s Chaturthi  i.e. on the eve of “GANESH CHATURTHI”, then he/she should drink water after enchanting the following mantra . On doing this he/she instantaneously becomes pious with the sacred water and lives without any blame or culpability on the earth.

            “Sinha prasenmavadheet sinho jambavataa hatah.

            Sukumarak ma rodeestav hyesh syamantakah.”

i.e.  “ Beautiful and smart youngster! For this MANI(precious stone) Sinha(lion) has killed PRASEN and Jambawat  has killed the lion. SO you do not lament. Now you own this MANI.
